I purchased some ex-military used nylon chopping boards,8 for £20 free postage too... So, i've decided to make my own anchor........each board works out at £2.50 each The dimensions are 1/2 inch thick,by 18" x 11 1/2" and are very strong... They can be used for many things related to kayaking....... I've included some pic's so you can get the just of what im going to do... But,you can personalize your own design to suit most seabed applications. My sketches are a bit primitive, but i'll endeavor to cut the pieces out symmetrically and more refined. 6 x (6mm dia) s/s nuts, bolt (50mm min length)and std washers slightly recessed not too deep as to weaken it. The two packing pieces are then sandwiched either side of the anchor leg, drilled'n'bolted through each other. Then bolted through the packing pieces down through the foot or blade of the anchor. I'll use a heat gun to slightly bend the left and right hand blades up. Oval hole drilled for the "D" link to attach to rope/short chain and a hole drilled for a break away attachment line. Which is on the outside bend of anchor leg... If there's a weak link at the "D" hopefully the anchor can be retrieved out in reverse by this attachment. Im hoping it'll be a light and durable anchor, but if 2 steel removable pins were used to attach the foot to the leg...... It could minimize space and be stored flat.... Part 2 to follow soon........... Attachments:

The plan.....! Marked out on the board ready to cut with a jigsaw.. And paper sketch of blade (with packing pieces shown in situ)which will need to be symmetrical.... I'll hopefully put this together at the weekend,,,,,,,,,, Attachments:
