For many many years the banks of the Humber have separated a county
Humberside they tried to call it but the Yorkshire rang true
East , South , West and North Yorkshire the banks of this river still define North and South
There was talk of who the better angler was on the two sides of this Yorkshire river
A few guys got there heads together and hatched a angling duel North vs South
They made rules and set a date!
the rules were there would be a prize for 1 st , 2nd and 3rd
and the team biggest bag would take all the money to there chosen life boat
from the day it was conceived northern and southern propaganda and banta would be dished up frequently
the start North vs South
Match Day
the location for a match was selected by someone and a meeting place was set
the meeting place was North Landing car park and you could fish were you wanted
The southern teams cars they got there early in eager preparation of the day ahead
the north team arrived a little later as too plan blocking in the oposition in a pincer movement
with the enemy now getting ready to dispatch
we got in our cars and left them with a building sea and descending fog in a maneuver of subterfuge
The Northern team headed to south side and set about filling a bag for the lifeboat
With conditions against us it would be a scratching match
Some not very entertaining fishing went on
And then we had a weigh in
there was a tie for second biggest fish so inspections were taken
