Here is my review of the ocean kayak (other brands are available) (other brands are available) Trident 15
Actually she is 15 feet 7and a half = 4.8m
she is a bit Heavier and longer than the 13 trdent coming in at 60 lbs= 27.2kg but not a problem to lift for me on my own . although i dont lift it up onto the roof as i have a Hullavator that i will review another time
she is 29 iches wide = 73.7 so no prolem getting my bum in , also very stable even in a chop .
behind the seat are two standard rod holders that keep the rods out the way when paddling
it has a large front oval hatch that takes the C Tug very easily and the compartment goes all the way to the back of the seat so lots of room . just inside the hatch it has a battery bag hanging to take a battery to power the fishfinder etc .
it has a recessed area to take a fish finder that has a fold down cover for when not in use this was also useful as a bait storage area as it took a decent sized marge tub before i got a fishfinder
the 2011 trident has a different rod pod areato the 2010 model and has holes that takes a cannon rod holder as standard and you have the option of moving it around if needed its 28inches long and 9and half wide so again lots of room the extension comes courtesy of Phil ( thanks Again Phil ) . also has a measure on top so you can see how big your fish is quick
the Trident 15 does not have the footrests as standard but are about £ 20 to buy
it has a large Tankwell in 2 parts the small one is 14 x7 inches an is ideal for a Tackle/ bait box the larger well is 15 x 19 so plenty more room i put a wash basket inside mine and still have room for other stuff like me anchor etc .
down both flanks there is a paddle holder but have taken one of mine off due to fitting an anchor trolley and Zig Zag cleat .
the Trident has the all the bolt/screw holse ready to take a Rudder which hopefully i will be able to afford soon
overall a very good Kayak and would reccomend to either a beginner like i was last year or a more Expierienced Kayak fisherman
hope all the pictures work
cheers
Simon
